"Hey Dad, I am going out to check out Newton's Olympic Outfitters store and perhaps buy some mountain climbing robes." Christina shouted out from the font door of her new house where she just moved in along with her 51 year old father James and her 163 year old great great great grandmother Samantha. She and her father moved to Forks, Washington from Juneau, Alaska while her great great great grandmother came from Crescent City, California to Forks to live with the family. Even though this was Samantha only living family. "Alright, Chris. Be back before your grandmother gets dinner on the table." Her father said from sitting down in his office upstairs who studies photography in nature.
Christina left her new house that she just moved in this summer. Forks, Washington to her seems like a town of mystery, just like everyone other town she had lived. For the last 5 years in her life, she had been home schooled by doing school online since she had moved so much with her father traveling half way around the world seeing the nature of wild life animals, deserts and snow, parks, mountains and under sea water. It had been a huge journey for her and finally he decided to move to Forks for his new job that a newspaper hired while he would still be able to use some of his free time to take pictures around the nature. She rode her bike though the city of Forks on the side walk and arrived at Newton's Olympic Outfitters store.

It was time to make the obligatory appearance around Forks again. Every so often all of the Cullens needed to be seen out and about, looking as normal as possible. Between spending time with Bella and the extra patrols that he had been making around the property Jasper hadn't been to town in weeks. The day was heavily overcast and the chance of rain was slight. The weekend however was supposed to be nice, which presented an opportunity that couldn't be passed up. Part of the Cullen cover story was that whenever the weather was nice they went camping or hiking. That meant a trip to Newton Outfitters for a bit of equipment that they would never use.
Leaving the house, Jasper had climbed into Emmett's Jeep and made the drive into town. Pulling into one of the parking place in front of the sporting goods store, he put the SUV into park and killed the engine. A flash of movement caught his gaze and Jasper looked to the side to see a young woman on bike stop in front of the store. He didn't pay her much attention until she turned around. When he caught a glimpse of her face something else flashed into his vision. Jasper blinked and shook his head, his brow furrowing. He looked at the girl again and felt this internal tug, like he had seen her somewhere before only he couldn't remember where, which was more than a little odd. As a vampire he had a perfectly vivid memory. Considering his past it was more of a curse than anything else but he could clearly recall every thing he had done, every face he had seen. Despite that there was an undeniable sensation that Jasper had seen that girl somewhere before.

"So are you new in town?" A young boy asked Christina who seemed like he worked at Newton's Olympic Outfitters store. "Yes, pretty much new in town." She answered him. "Cool, I am Mike Newton, pleased to meet you." Mike told her his name. "Christina. Christina Whitlock, pleased to meet you too." She shook his hand by greeting and try to look for something around the store. Mike asked, "Is there something I can help you find?" She shook her head, "No, thank you. I think I will be alright." Mike nodded and walked away to let her be.
She looked at some ropes and pick out some good strong mountain ropes and went to the font of the store to buy them. "So you'll be climbing on some mountains around here, perhaps?" Mike asked who was standing at the counter of where she would be paying for the ropes. "Yea, me and my father go mountain climbing on some weekends." She answered him. "I am going to let you pay 10 bucks for these ropes, the rest I will pay." Mike said. "No, you don't need to discount me from the $80 price." She said because it didn't seem right for her not to pay 80 bucks for the ropes. "No, let it happen and besides you are new in town and I say this is your welcome gift here to Forks." Mike said. Christina sighed and give him 10 bucks for the ropes. "I guess I see you around." She said saying her goodbyes as she turned to the font door of the store within rolling her eyes. "Yea, see you." Mike said his byes.
Finally out of the store, she got her bag of ropes in her basket but noticing her tires of her bike were both flat. "Great" she said to herself. "How do I get home now?" she asked herself.
(Permission to God mode Mike Newton since no one plays him yet.)

Jasper started to get out of the Jeep then looked up at the girl again. This time he caught a full on view of her face. The sight made him freeze in his seat as a scene played in front of his eyes. It wasn't vivid but rather dull, almost colorless, like an old-time motion picture. The view was slightly out of focus and though the woman was clearly speaking, Jasper couldn't hear what she was saying. In a flash the vision ended and he blinked repeatedly trying to clear the scene from his mind. Whoever the woman was she bore an unsettling resemblance to the girl who had just gone into the store. Jasper had no idea what had just happened but for some reason it left him feeling slightly shaken. He sat there for another moment or two then once again started to exit the Jeep.
With that task accomplished he turned his attention to figuring out what supplies he should pick up inside. Of course they didn't need anything but appearances had to be kept. Approaching the front door of the store, Jasper reached out and took the handle as voices reached his sensitive hearing. The male voice he recognized immediately as Mike Newton, one of the many boys who had crushed on Bella. Actually he was probably still crushing on her but thankfully she wasn't there so he wouldn't have to feel it first hand. The other voice Jasper heard was female and also seemed sort of familiar, though he couldn't place it exactly. When he looked through the glass door his eyes fell on the girl who had arrived on the bike a few minutes before. Once again a flash of… something played before his eyes. This time though she could hear the young woman speak and the voice was hauntingly similar to the girl's inside. Jasper shook his head sharply, trying to clear it all from his mind. Whatever was happening he didn't much like it.
Turning on the heel of his boot he walked down to the end of the block to get a bit of distance. Hopefully the girl, whoever she was, would be gone when he got back. Whatever Jasper was seeing had him feeling rather unsettled and that was never a good thing. Upon reaching the end of the block he decided that shopping would have to wait for another day. He started back the way he'd come, intent on reaching the Jeep and getting back home. About the time he reached the vehicle the door to the store opened and the girl walked out. Jasper took a shallow breath out of habit and immediately regretted his action. Just like everything else, there was something about the girl's scent that was familiar, though he couldn't quite place it. Shaking his head he tried to ignore her as he made his way to the Jeep. Just as he reached the door she spoke and against his better judgment he turned to see what was wrong. At the same time he spoke without thinking about what he was doing. "Everything alright?"

"Everything alright?" say a voice of a man. Christina gets up from her one knee that she got down to look at her bike tires. A stranger, a complete stranger asking her if everything is alright. He looked familiar to her some how but where could she have seen his face before? Yet he was a stranger to her, it wouldn't be a good idea to talk to him because men at any age from 20 to up, would come up to girls probably wanting to have sex with them but that is rape. For some reason, Christina didn't think this stranger was the kind of guy that would do that, probably just wanting to help her.
"Um, everything doesn't seem alright." She answered him as she puts her hand on the bike. "Due to the bike has flat tires, I guess it will be hard for me to get home." she added. "But I don't think I can allow you to help me since I don't know who you are." she said because she was protecting her self if she was in danger with this stranger.

The girl rose back to her feet from inspecting her bike and looked at him. A flicker of an ever so slightly different face momentarily superimposed over hers and Jasper blinked to clear his vision. He could sense that she wasn't at ease, which both surprised and pleased him. Everything about what he was had been designed to draw humans in, from the sound of his voice to his looks. Of course human vision wasn't quite keen enough to reveal his true appearance or people would truly be afraid of him.
Jasper's gaze slowly dropped to look at the tires of her bike. They were indeed deflated and with his keen eyesight he could see the glint of what he suspected was glass where it sparkled in the overcast light of day from the tread of the tires. The girls stated the flats would make it hard for her to get home before she went on to say that she didn't think she should accept his help since she didn't know him. She was smart, smarter than most humans as far as he was concerned. Jasper couldn't put his finger on what it was but the girl definitely reminded him of someone in just about every way. It was almost spooky.
Pushing that notion aside to consider later, he turned his attention to doing what he could to see that the girl got home safely. It seemed the first step in even marginally gaining her trust was making an introduction. With a surprisingly natural feeling smile curling his lips upward Jasper dipped his head. "Allow me to introduce myself. The name is Jasper Hale," he said with a slightly pronounced Texas drawl. His natural accent always seemed to thicken whenever he was consciously trying to charm someone. Maybe the accent had been a part of the charisma he had possessed before his transformation. "You're wise to be leery of strangers, ya never know what they might be after, but I'm just looking to help if I can." Jasper hoped he could put her at ease enough to learn a little something about her. There had to be a reason that she was evoking these images from his mind. If all else failed he could resort to his gift but he would rather try to gain her trust honestly.

The familiar face of this strange man had introduced himself by the name of Jasper Hale. The first name Jasper was familiar to Christina because it was a first name of her great-great-great grandfather whom died during the Civil War more than a century ago. But his last name Hale wasn't familiar to her at all. Yet could it be possible if that grandfather could be alive? Her great-great-great grandmother Samantha while pregnant their son Jasper II was his only family and was told he went missing in action but claim to be dead. Yet the body of Jasper Whitlock was never found, not even on the field where he went missing. That was more strange than ever of why the body wasn't found and yet it mystery was never solved while the world moved on.
"Name Christina. Christina S. Whitlock." She said in her normal voice than in her Texas way of saying but she did not live in Texas long enough to get Texas accent. They moved away from Texas after her mother died from cancer. She doesn't remember her mother well but remember the last hug she give her. "Things are mystery where ever you go. Yet there is no telling of what going to happen next or the next day." She smiled with thinking if she could allow this man to perhaps give her a ride home. Well she doesn't know many people around and decided she could be friends with this Jasper if he like to. "Well since you are just looking for helping me. I believe I could allow to ask you. Will you give me a ride home?" She asked him, gaining him a little trust but it would be a test to her until she home where she could gain his trust fully.

Jasper waited patiently while the girl considered his words. He wondered vaguely if he would recognize her name, if she bothered to introduce herself. Being that she didn't seem too trusting of strangers there was really no way to know if she would offer her name in return. Jasper couldn't help but smile a bit when she said her name was Christina. The expression instantly shifted and he did everything he could to hold in his shock when her full name was repeated. He froze, unable to think or even breathe. Jasper swallowed thickly and forced himself to blink once. A rapid succession of more blinks followed the first while he attempted to rationalize what he had heard. Whitlock wasn't that uncommon a name. Still, a small shudder went through him as he thought once more about how much the girl seemed familiar, not only in looks but also in her scent.
He attempted to push everything aside and focus since she was still talking. Jasper missed at least part of what she said, just how much he didn't know. She asked for a ride home, that much he sure. Dipping his head he looked briefly away from Christina. "It would be my pleasure to see you home," he replied, hoping that she hadn't witnessed the shock that had no doubt been plastered across his face upon hearing her name. "May I take your bike?" Jasper asked politely, lifting a hand in gesture. There was plenty of room in the Jeep to fit the bike and he could use the few minutes he could stall to gather himself.

Christina was thinking that Jasper wouldn't be that kind of guy who wouldn't rape young teenagers girls because he looks too clean and too nice. But she has to be on her guard to make sure because you never know what may happen next. She has even read stories about young girls being raped by strangers and even people you just met. That all turns into a horror tale and it changed those girls lives forever because they would never be able to forget it until the day they died. Even for some stories, some girls never survived from kidnapping or rape and it wouldn't be good for their family look for justice they deserve.
"Great then" She said as Jasper answered that it would be his pleasure to see her get home. "Yea, go ahead." She smiley answered his question of taking her bike. "You got a nice Jeep there. What year is it?" She asked looking at his car that was a Jeep.
