A car pulled up in front of the Cullen's house. The black limo bore the crest of the Volturi. A blond haired woman stepped out onto the gravel path and walked up the steps to the front door. She rapped on the door. "This is Anthenadora. open up." she called through the glass. She saw movement and let herself in. "Jasper Hale! Bella Swan!" she called her voice like a harp. She sat down on the sofa and took her sunglasses off.

Jasper was in his new room playing the guitar when the sound of tires on gravel drew his attention. The thrum of the engine was not familiar, causing a sense of unease in his stomach. Setting the instrument off to the side, he was on his feet in a split second as a female voice reached his ears and the front door swung open. Jasper was almost to the stairs before Athenadora yelled his name. He wasn't entirely certain where Bella was at the moment; hopefully she was out of the house. Whatever it was that the Volturi wife wanted was likely to be something they weren't willing to give. It would be better for all involved if Bella had nothing to do with the situation.
"Come in, please… make yourself at home," Jasper said with only a hint of sarcasm as he descended the stairs and moved to stand a distance from where Athenadora was lounging on the couch.

Athenadora laughed. "I already have dear one." she smiled. She looked around the house. "Nice home." she said. She looked at Jasper. "I need Alice." she said. "But then again Bella would be useful." she said. She looked at Jasper. "Now then where is the beautiful Bella?" she asked picking up a crystal flower off the matel piece and examining it.

Bella had been trying to avoid the family all day; she knew that Alice was still tender about the whole situation of her and Jasper breaking up, even though she now had Edward. And Bella tried to keep her distance from Jasper because she knew, he would sense her discomfort and guilt. So there she was, out in the woods behind the Cullen home, hoping no one would come and find her. That was until she heard a car at the front of the house and a shrill but still bell-like voice calling for her and Jasper.
With record newborn speed, Bella entered the back of the house and made her way to the living room where she found Jasper standing off to one side and Atheandora sitting on the couch. Bella frowned, as her eyes darted from one to the other. "What's going on? Why is she here?" She asked, moving close to Jasper and resting a hand on his chest.

Drawing in a deep breath, Jasper worked to keep his calm. While he did have a healthy respect for the Volturi he did not like some of their practices. This, in particular, seemed like an unusual situation. For the wife of one of the leaders to pay a visit was almost unheard of. Whatever the woman wanted with he and Bella it can't be good. Jasper arched a brow when Athenadora said she needed Alice before turning her attention back to Bella. "I'm sorry to say I don't happen to know Bella's whereabouts at the moment. Perhaps I can be of assistance?"
No sooner than words left his mouth and Bella's scent reached him. Oh to be a telepath at that moment so he could tell her to stay away. Of course he wasn't and even if he were chances were that Bella would be unable to hear his pleas. Instead Jasper did the only thing that he could do, he crossed the room to stand with Bella, one arm wrapped protectively around her waist as he kept his gaze locked on the other woman. "I believe Athendora was just about to explain the purpose of her visit."
