SHE JUMPED.

So Bella jumped off that cliff, Alice had that fateful vision, but she never told Rosalie. Only after discovering that Bella was alive did she call the rest of the family (saving Edward) and tell them what happened. Alice stays and all goes according to story to the next morning and such. Edward never calls during Jacob's fight with Bella. She makes her decision and backs off from him and huddles on the couch. Jacob leaves for awhile to "cool" off.

THEY WAIT.
Bella never leaves for Volterra, no Volturi encounter, they don't know about her. That doesn't mean they have forgotten about their dear old friend, Carlisle. That doesn't mean they don't know of Edward and Alice's talents and don't want them. They wait silently, waiting for when the time is right to try and get them to join. They have no idae rules have been broken.

HE RETURNS.
Alice decides she doesn't care what Edward told them, she was going to move back. She then sees her darling brother in agony from separation from Bella and coming back. He comes, and begs Bella to take him back. Bella accepts without a doubt. Happy ending, right? Not quite.

SHE ARRIVES.
A new girl has emerged. Jillian's bad, it appears. She's a druggie, smoker, and is a bit of a bitch. She's nice once you break through her shell, which isn't easy to do. No one in the town has been able to deal with her, but the police haven't caught her with good enough evidence to arrest her. She knows way too much about vampires for her own good.

HE'S CONFUSED.
Bella has broken his heart, and when he returns back to La Push and Forks from cooling off he imprints. He can't stand the girl at first, but when he realizes he is in love with her it puts him in a difficult spot. It only increases when she admits he's pretty sexy, kisses him, and runs off. Especially with Victoria still lurking in the shadows, threatening the one he thought that he loved the most.
