Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. Caitlyn Elizabeth Hanson was a beauty that was frozen at the youthful age of twenty-one years old and right now she was in the woods that surrounded Forks. She had just fed and had hidden the body, never to be found again. It was something she always did, she was very careful about hunting, well after the hunt. During any hunt her instincts would take over. She always hunts outside of Forks and away from the wolves; she knows she should be careful. Right now Caitlyn was sat upon a rock and she was dress in a pair of black, skinny jeans and a blood red top that was off the shoulders, complete with a long black leather jacket and heeled ankle boots. Her hair was down as normal in light curls surrounding her face that caused her blood eyes to shine even more so after her meal. Sometimes she felt guilt and other times she did not. If there was anything she could do to change herself back to human then she would. Caitlyn would love the feeling to know what it feels like to grow old.
Suddenly she jumped off the rock with such grace that no human would believe what they would see. Caitlyn started to run as soon as her feet hit the ground; it would seem that she was floating. The trees flying past in blurs nothing was hitting her. Her dark brown hair flew behind her in the wind that she was creating with her speed. She flew past the trees and then into a clearing which was called the Meadow. She looked around and took in this place; Caitlyn had been shown it by her coven and told to keep an eye on it. It was such a beautiful place, which was something she could not deny. Silently she moved to sit on the ground as her jacket spread around her. Caitlyn closed her eyes and carefully listened to the sounds that came out of the woods and the surrounding area. She could hear every little thing that was made even in the far distance.
That was when she heard a twig snap and she took in the scent quickly. Her eyes flew open, and swiftly she stood up with no effort at all. Caitlyn was not sure who it was, she did not recognise the scent that was flooding her senses, but she would fight if she had to. This was something she did not want to do. However she had learnt to fight from her old coven 'guardian' Victoria. Victoria did not care about who she killed, or who are killed to protect the coven but she wanted them to go down fighting, since that was what Victoria like best. She had been on her own now for a while.

With a great deal of time on his hands and less options to fill it, what with trying to stay out of Alice's way, Jasper had taken to making random patrols of the forest. James and Victoria were still out there, waiting for an opportunity to strike at Bella or the rest of the family. He would have preferred not having that threat hanging over them but at least it provided an excuse for him to be away for extended periods of time. Jasper wished that Bella having been turned would have been an end to James' obsession but of course that was too much to ask. I had worked once upon a time, back when his target had been Alice.
This situation had gone well beyond that though. While James had initially only wanted Bella's blood, now he wanted revenge. He wanted to make her and the Cullens pay for what was done to him. What Jasper had done to him. It had been a careless mistake on his part not to assure that James was properly disposed of but Carlisle's calm instructions telling Edward that Bella's blood was clean and that he needed to stop was more than he could ignore. Then came the flood of jealousy knowing that it was Edward that Bella wanted. That was too much to bear and Jasper left the building without considering what it might mean. Now James posed more of a threat than ever.
Releasing a heavy sigh, Jasper tried to shake off his guilt. It felt like everything was his fault these days. James still being alive, not to mention more dangerous. Alice being hurt and upset all the time. Edward being hurt. The general tension and unease within the family. It all seemed to lead right back to Jasper. The only thing it didn't seem was his direct fault was Bella's transformation. Even so he felt guilty that he hadn't been there to protect her as he said he would. At the same time it was a relief that he no longer had to fight the desire for her blood. Of course that too was yet another source of guilt. Jasper couldn't help but wonder when things might return to normal or if there could ever be normal again between all involved parties.
As he started to contemplate that question, a shift in the wind brought an unfamiliar scent to his nose. Jasper's head whipped around, his nostrils flaring wide as he drew in a deep breath. The source of the scent was a vampire, female, and not one he had scented before. That was both a small relief and a cause for concern. A sharp about-face and he took off like a shot in the direction of the meadow. Just before he cleared the edge of the woods Jasper slowed to a walk. He was smart enough not to rush into an ambush. No other scents were present, at least nothing fresh. As he moved into the clearing his eyes immediately focused on the female vampire facing him. "What is your purpose in this territory?" he asked, working to keep his tone level. If Jasper could avoid a fight he would be pleased. It was times like these that he was grateful for his appearance. The evidence he wore on his skin, the scars suffered over years of bloody battle, tended to be a good deterrent for unnecessary fighting now.

Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. Caitlyn scanned the surrounding area quickly as she remained very alert waiting for anything that would make her fight. She knew that it most certainly was not a human or one of those wolves she had heard about. This thing still had not emerged from where it was coming from. Caitlyn stood as still as a statue and she had still not blinked as she stared in just the one direction now. Taking one more intake of air that she did not need, she came to the final conclusion that it was most certainly a vampire. It could be a Cullen picking up the scent of blood from her meal that she had buried not so long ago. This was something she did not want to face on her own. It was as Daniel had described her as a darling sweetheart but a killer monster. It often confused her why he would say such a thing. But then again she could fight when she needed to, but it also helps because of the power that she has. It was very dangerous indeed. The wind picked up around her, making her jacket billow around her.
Silently she stayed where she was, still waiting for this mysterious person. Caitlyn was not willing to take any risk in this situation. She was a relatively young vampire in the immortal world, seeing as she was turned only one hundred and fifty one years ago to be exact. That had not be all fun and games after she saw what she had become, even though she was even more beautiful than she had been as a human. She had almost tried to blow herself up, but that did not do anything to her. Now she had learnt all over again how to blend it, but still hunt what she craved once in a while. The one thing she made sure was that she hunted away from these wolves, she did not fancy being torn about because of what she needed to survive.
Soon enough, a male emerged from the surrounding woods where she held her gaze. Quickly, Caitlyn found herself in a defensive crouch, ready to pounce if she felt threatened. Her eyes narrowed as she took in the potential enemy. He looked like every vampire male looked. Handsome to the human eye, he could be described as a god, but he looked liked he was experience in combat. Her hair whipped around in the wind that was picking up. Then he spoke, he was a distance away but she could hear him as if he was standing right next to her. “I am simply sat here, I did not hunt on your grounds, I did not mean to do any harm. You have my word.” Caitlyn spoke in a strong voice.
She kept her eyes narrowed but she stood up from her crouch, although she remained in a defensive position. “I must ask, what do you intend to do to me now, and what is your name?” Caitlyn spoke to him once more. She wanted information; she most certainly was not going to beat around the bush, as these humans would say.

No sooner than Jasper came into view, the woman settled into a fighting stance. At least she didn't attack, that was something. Clearly she was sizing him up, as he was doing the same to her. He didn't look at her in the way someone else might. Most would notice her beauty, though it was nothing out of the norm for a vampire. All Jasper cared to take note of was her stance and narrow-eyed appraisal. He had long ago learned to view all vampires first as a threat and not even fifty years with the Cullens had changed that mindset. The woman spoke then, her tone level and calm. Jasper arched a brow at her as she finished. "The word of a vampire I do not know. I'm sorry to say that your offering means little." He wasn't trying to be difficult, simply honest.
She eased her stance a bit, though her expression didn't change much. Jasper's face remained stoic; he was well practiced at bluffing and gave nothing away in his expression. She spoke again then, asking what he intended to do with her before inquiring as to his name. Tilting his head slightly Jasper tapped into her emotions. He didn't sense any sort of deceit from her, mostly curiosity. Still it seemed a bit early to start offering too much information. "As it is the territory of my… coven that you are encroaching, do you not think it more appropriate for you to first introduce yourself?" Once again Jasper arched an eyebrow pointedly to punctuate his point. "As for my intentions… at the moment I have none. Though that may change without warning if I discover you in any attempts to deceive. I am merely curious as to your purpose here, as I am of any… affiliations you might hold."

Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. Taking in this stranger, it would have been common curtsey to introduce herself to him, but she had other things on her mind, such as wanted to know if he was going to fight. Though now it looked like he was not going to fight, but never underestimate the enemy, you never know what they could be thinking. Waiting for a response from this male, she took him in, looking for any potential weaknesses and any way to try and take him down, if this situation should arrive. Caitlyn knew that he would over power her but if anything Caitlyn would not go down without a fight, it was drummed into her even when she was a human and even more so since she was turned into what she was today.
Finally he responded to something she knew was very obvious, he did seem to have a fair argument to what he was saying, “I understand and I have to say that I am sorry that you say such a thing.” Caitlyn said stating the obvious. It was true, you could not accept the word of a vampire you did not know, it was drummed into their basic code. Drawing her attention to this man once more, Caitlyn made sure that her thought pattern was calculating, hoping to try to see what his next move was. Anything could happen, but this was something she would quit from. Another lesson she learnt from her ‘guardians’. It was not going to be a walk in the park. Then he started to that he would not introduce himself stating it was she who must introduce herself to him, which was once more understandable. “I am sorry for my lack of manners, my name is Caitlyn Hanson.” She stated giving a slightly nod of her head, once more a mark of respect, since this was his territory. Lying was not an option; he could be a potential new ally or someone who she did not want to make an enemy since he belonged to a coven. He most certain was not an enemy she wanted.
“I can see your hesitation as I am not of your type of vampire, though my affiliations is that of myself, I do not ally with the Volturi or any other vampire, the only affiliations I have had due this life is that of my old coven who are no longer in this world.” Caitlyn truthfully admitted. Running her hand through her hair, she waited for any response to what she had said. As she waited, she elegantly sat on the floor with her legs crossed, it was rather random action.

Jasper remained still and silent, shifting into a loose stance while his gaze never shifted from the woman before him. He felt no surprise when he said her word meant nothing to him, though he did detect a slight hint of disappointment. It was possible that was in regards to something else so Jasper didn't think much of that. Instead he watched and listened to her. After a brief but genuine apology she introduced herself as Caitlyn. It was a natural reaction still held over from his human days to incline his head when she nodded hers. How such a reaction remained after everything he had been through was a mystery. Set to return the favor and return the introduction, Jasper stopped when Caitlyn spoke again.
Her words were truthful and brought a hint of sadness with them. Jasper couldn't help but wonder just how long she had been alone in the world. Despite not knowing the woman in the least, he didn't sense anything malicious in her emotions. She was being honest and for that he was grateful. The last thing he wanted was another battle. "Thank you for answering my questions, Caitlyn," he began, once more inclining his head. "My name is Jasper Whitlock Hale. My family holds a permanent residence a short distance from here." For a moment he paused to consider just how much he should relate to this stranger. Though her emotions were genuine it was possible that James and Victoria were aware of the talents the family possessed. Therefore it was possible that Caitlyn was able to get around his ability to sense her emotions.
"If you might forgive my less than welcome behavior," Jasper continued, opting to reveal a bit more as a means to feel the woman out. "As you might guess I am not exactly the trusting the sort and my family is currently embroiled in a… situation with another coven. To have you suddenly appear on our lands at such a time tends to set off a few alarms." Jasper kept his gaze and his talent focused on Caitlyn as he spoke. He could only hope that his ability was working and that he would continue to sense honesty and understanding.

Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. Intently she watched him as he listened to her. The distance between them both was enough for her to feel confident enough that at this moment in time, he was not going to attack her and throw her body onto a burning fire. Everything seemed to be getting interesting lately. The arrival of her to this small down, it would seem that Forks just became a rather large destination on the Vampire World’s radar, which could mean potential trouble for herself and everyone else. Frowning at the thought of this, she would have to prepare and prepare hard. This year would most certainly travel fast, and she would make sure that she would make it through and carry on living this immortal life of hers. It would keep moving.
“You are more than welcome; I have nothing to hide, so I shall answer any questions you have to ask.” Once more she nodded her head without a second thought. She then gave her own smile to him showing her own perfect teeth, it was common curtsey in any world. Plus this was her gift, not one she was given as a vampire, but a gift she was granted thanks to her parents when she was human. Oh how she missed her parents, but that was in the past and she had moved on. The wind picked up once more around them both, her hair flying in the untamed wind. This was actually the first time she had come across another vampire for a long while. Caitlyn had only ever been apart of one coven and the rest of the time she had been on her own wandering both Canada and the United States of America. Standing up, she started to walk around, she made sure that this newcomer stayed in her eye line. Like her did, she made sure that she did not enter his personal space. Caitlyn folded her arms when he stated his name.
“Once more it is a pleasure to meet you Jasper Hale, I can understand your situation, I truly can, I have been on my own for a long time, and therefore only had to protect myself, but when you have a ‘family’ you do anything you think possible to protect them.” This was her little speech, Releasing her arms from their folded position across her chest, listening to all the information she was being given, she stored it in her mind. “Well I do not mean you any harm, even though my word is not something you can take as you have previously stated.”

Continuing to keep a close read on her emotions, Jasper maintained his initial assessment that she was being honest and truthful. In addition she seemed to be feeling a bit more at ease. Caitlyn hadn't dropped her guard, not that he'd expected her to. She kept him in her line of sight, which allowed him to do the same without moving as she roamed the immediate area. Jasper remained in his loose stance, moving little more than his eyes as he tracked her movements.
He couldn't help but smile slightly, a ghost of the expression, when Caitlyn spoke again. Jasper took in her words then once more inclined his head. "The pleasure is mine, Caitlyn Hanson. I appreciate your understanding. I assure you under different circumstances my manners would have made a better showing." That was true to some degree. Of all the Cullens, Jasper was the least trusting. That was really no surprise considering his history. Still the manners he had learned in his human life were a part of the man he was now. as difficult as that was to believe. Slowly Jasper nodded in response to her words. "Yes, family is to be protected at all costs."
Once again Caitlyn stated she meant no harm then reminded him of his earlier statement that he did not trust anyone he didn't know. "Times change," he replied evenly. "You seem to have been truthful. Were you allied with those who stand against us there would some scent evidence to indicate that. For that reason I am inclined to believe that you mean us no ill-will. Should I later learn otherwise…" Jasper cocked his head, arching a brow pointedly as he met Caitlyn's gaze. The look he gave her should have left little doubt just what he didn't say. He didn't like to resort to making threats but she needed to be aware just how serious he was. If anything happened to Bella…

Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. Continuing her pacing up and down these grounds, she let the wind blow her hair around her face and she could feel her long leather jacket billow behind her as she walked. Her guard still remained as it was, she was sure Jasper was doing the same thing as she was doing at this moment in time. It was a matter of gaining some form of trust and understanding, she was hoping that she could offer assistance if his coven ever needed it. It would allow Caitlyn to form some sort of friendship if they would let her.
“There is no need to assure me of anything, I can understand you reasoning,, if I were in the position you are in, I would do the same thing.” Caitlyn then did an elegant turn on the spot; she was letting some of her personality through now. She was being diplomatic but that was not what she was about, Caitlyn was a rather bold character that enjoys making people smile with her crazy personality but she was also a caring as much as she could if the chance arose for her. A small smile graced her feature once again. “Oh yes, family has always come first in my books, especially when I was human, my parents meant the world to me.” There were only a few select things she could remember from her human past and that included her parents, her fiancé and her younger sister who had died in infancy. That had been such a sad time for her entire family. Even now, Caitlyn would make the journey to Ohio, in the dead of night, to visit her parents and sister’s final resting place. She knew that she should be beside them but she never will be.
“Thank you.” It was nice changes to have someone begin to trust her and not use her for something they wanted. “Of course, I think my scent would have given me away straight away.” She admitted once more. “Yes, of course, but I stand here still admitting that my intention are still honourable, and I know that this may seem empty to you, but if you find that yourself and your coven need help against this threat, I would be willing to help you fight, I have my uses, but my offer is there for you to take if you ever need it, consider it a thank you for not destroying me on first sight like any other vampire could have.” Caitlyn spoke in her gentle, angelic voice. “I must explain that I do have intentions of staying Forks for an unknown period of time and I plan on attending the local high school, in which I have done several times in the past, I believe that this you should know.”

Though his eyes remained on the woman a short distance away, Jasper inclined his head yet again, his hair falling forward to brush his cheeks. "I appreciate your understanding. These are trying times." That's the understatement of the year. There was so much going on even beyond the threat of James and Victoria. Emotions were high across the board. Alice and Edward were both hurt by the turn of events with he and Bella falling in love. Jasper had never meant to hurt either of them and knew the same was true of Bella. In some way she still loved Edward and Alice was her best friend. He knew full well that she felt as though she had betrayed her. Of course Jasper felt the same way. Alice had been his whole world for sixty years and she still held a piece of his heart. After everything she had done to help shape him into the man he now was and he just walked away. A wave of guilty washed over him for the millionth time and Jasper clamped down on it tightly. Now wasn't the time for this sort of distraction.
When Cailtyn began to speak about family however, the guilt surged again. Unwittingly he dropped his guard, his gaze going distant for no more than a matter of seconds. Still that would have been long enough had she been waiting for an opening to strike. "As I am certain you're aware, there are ways to mask scent. I have simply learned to take nothing for granted for I know first hand what a deadly mistake it can be." For a brief flash of a second Jasper thought about all the newborns who had taken for granted that he was calling them for further training only to destroy them for having lost their full strength. By then, in an unanticipated move, Caitlyn was offering her aid to the family. Jasper arched an eyebrow, cocking his head as he stared at her, reading her emotions. Once again there was no hint of deceit but a genuine offer of aid. While it was clear from the hue of her eyes that she was a true vampire in terms of diet, she was different than most nomads. "You would offer without knowing the full details of the situation we face?" When she said he could consider it a thank you for not destroying her, Jasper immediately thought of Carlisle. Were it not for him chances would have been good that he would have destroyed Caitlyn on sight. "Perhaps you care to meet the rest of my family? You could learn our story and decide then if you wish to involve yourself."
She went on explain that she planned to attend the high school. That was a surprise. Jasper couldn't image being a carnivorous vampire attending classes. It was still difficult enough for him, having been a vegetarian for as long as he had. "Thank you for informing me of your intentions. I must confess, I find it… unusual that you would seek to attend school, all things considered. You say you've done so before?" Jasper was very interested to learn more about Caitlyn. She was certainly more civilized than most of their kind and she could make a good ally. "My family also attends school, though we've all graduated during this cycle." It was unfortunate that she hadn't shown up sooner, when Alice and Edward could have kept an eye on her. As soon as that thought crossed his mind however Jasper dismissed the notion. For some reason, quite possibly Carlisle's influence, he was willing to give Caitlyn the benefit of the doubt.

Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. Understanding every word that Jasper was speaking, it was nice just to talk to one of her kind that did not pose as a threat. If only she could gain the trust of others like herself, that had a kind soul in which she could relate to. When Caitlyn looked to him, she saw that he was looking to the distance for a short moment of time. If she had wanted to attack, she could have taken him down then and he would not have known what would have hit him, that would have been her advantage, instead she stood with her arms folded across her chest, a slightly amused look on her face. “Welcome back.” She stated with a joking tone in her voice when he finally regained his thoughts. Then he spoke once more, just after he came back to the world she liked to call reality. Caitlyn herself inclined her own head for a moment as she thought in how to reply to what he was saying and then what he had been asking.
”Yes, I am certain there are many ways to mask a scent, none which I have had to use yet, and you should be much more careful in your thoughts it would seem that is are very distracted.” It was just a friendly observation. Caitlyn watched as Jasper cocked his eyebrow up in question to what she said about helping them. The offer had most certainly genuine; in regards to offering her help if they found that they needed it. “I don’t joke when I offer my help, I would help because I know that you are an honest person, I just hope that I am not falling into a trap, because that is when I will fight for my survival.” She had not revealed her power yet, but if she was going to help, then she would in time. “It would be an honour to meet the rest of your coven, though I once more offer my concerns, that if I am walking into a trap.” This was often on her mind n terms of her survival as normal.
Nodding her head in response to attending the local high school, it was something she was very careful about doing, it was a tough choice to make and continue to do, and it was into something she went into lightly. “Now, I feel that introductions are done and so are my intentions, is there anything else that you need to know about me?” She asked with a small smile on her face once more. Looking up as the clouds cleared for a moment letting the sun shine through, her skin started to sparkle; it never stopped amazing her that for being a monster this could happen. The clouds soon covered up the sun once more. It was her turn to find her thoughts drifting from the situation in front of herself. “You know when you asked why I would willing help you not knowing you situation.” Caitlyn trailed off for a moment. “Its because I family should live with no-one missing, without a complete puzzle, that is what I am willing fight for, I would fight for your family, in hopes that one day I shall see my own one day, to see my mother’s smile and my father’s childish antics.” This was her true reasoning; she was alone in the world and would like nothing more than to leave this immortal life. Looking down at her hands for a moment, a lot of people would never understand her reasoning’s, but Jasper needed to know that she would die to protect a coven she did not know.

There was no question that Caitlyn had caught his momentary lapse of concentration. That she made mention of it without exploiting the weakness went a little way in increasing his trust. Then again if she was working some sort of angle then that is exactly what she would have done. Jasper still didn't sense anything but sincerity and he was inclined to trust his gift. "You are correct, I should take more care in my thoughts. I assure you that my focus is generally much more acute." He wasn't boasting or trying to make a big thing out of it, but was rather simply stating a fact. Jasper would have ceased to exist a very long time ago if he'd let his attention slide like he just had. He arched a brow when Caitlyn expressed her concern that she might be walking into a trap. "Though I don't know what stake you would put in my word, I assure you that if I had any intention of destroying you I would have done so already. And I do not hesitate to give you my word that you will be safe from my family so long as you make no move against us." Jasper paused then for a moment to consider how best to put her at ease. "Perhaps you would prefer to take a few days. Familiarize yourself with the immediate area and choose a location to meet us where you are comfortable?"
Tilting his head again, Jasper took one last read of Caitlyn's emotions. "I am content with the information you have provided. For the time being," he replied with a faint smile in return. As they stood there the cloud cover began to break, letting a bit of sun through. Jasper pulled his hands behind his back out of habit. He had never truly become comfortable in the direct sun. It was something he tolerated for Alice's benefit through the years. Watching her dance in the sunlight was a nice memory but being in the light himself made him uncomfortable. Under normal circumstances he disliked his appearance, the scars that marred the majority of his body a constant reminder of his monstrous past. Seeing his skin in the sunlight gave him an all-together different appearance and it was one he generally avoided at all costs. Thankfully the clouds returned in short order and with them a renewed sense of comfort.
Jasper had thought the conversation all but over save saying their good-byes when Caitlyn spoke again. He listened carefully to her words, took in the loneliness she was clearly feeling. "My family has nearly limitless resources. In exchange for your help perhaps we could assist in finding your family, presuming they are out there to be found." Jasper didn't usually like to offer such help assistance without first speaking to Carlisle but as the head of the family had not yet met Caitlyn he knew that his opinion would mean the difference between offering aid or not. He was of the mind that she was a good person, that she was being honest and sincerely meant her offer to fight with the Cullens. "I believe the family will be pleased to meet you, Caitlyn Hanson. I will warn you know that we have some… interesting individuals within our ranks." Jasper felt it was only fair to give some advance warning. Not that anyone in his family was bad, quite the contrary. However they could be a bit overwhelming before you got to know them, especially Emmett and Alice.

Sometimes I wonder should I end it, But then I see that something is holding me back. There was something that he said that made her think about what she was wanting out of her immortal life, maybe one day she would know truly what she wanted. “I think a few days is just what I need, it’s all new to me, I am not usually this trusting but I find myself trusting what you are saying.” Closing her eyes for a moment, the monster within her was starting to rise, but she pushed it down straight away, she would trust them that much she was sure of. “I am sorry for how I am acting, but I am trying very much just to once more adjust, even if I am only here for a short while.” Caitlyn said once more with a small smile gracing her lips.
“Jasper, I could never ask you or your family to do such a thing, as I have said before, I am content alone, I truly don’t imagine myself living like this for the rest of eternity if I am honest, no matter how much I wish my biological family were here with me.” Caitlyn admitted, she was content with her outlook on what she wanted to happen to her, not yet but at some point in the future. “I would not think of your family any less, though I have to admit that nerves would more than likely take the best of me, but I offer what services I can to your family.” When he mentioned that his family had same interesting individuals within his coven, she did not expect anything less; it had been like that with her old coven before she left them. Caitlyn had been the bold one out of her family, always the lively one. Shaking her head as she rid of these thoughts once more, they were the last thing she wanted to think about, considering they had passed on because of the Volturi. Hate filled her for a moment; they had been destroyed just after she left because they had challenged them. It was a huge mistake on their part.
“I am sorry; it would seem that I am babbling on once more again, now I must take my leave because I have affairs that I need to settle, I am sure that this will not be the last time I see you around. It was a pleasure meeting you Jasper Hale.” Caitlyn said with a bow of her head, it was something she always did with a greeting or a goodbye. A smile once more graced her face as she turned around and ran in the direction of her home. She had not told him, how to contact her or how she should contact him. But she was sure they would find her if they wanted to. That was slight concerning if she had not had that confrontation with Jasper.

Wearing a small smile Jasper inclined his head at Caitlyn. "A few days then," he agreed. It would give him time to discuss his meeting with the family and get Carlisle's impressions before introducing her to the others. His lips curved upward a bit more when she admitted not generally being trustful, he could relate. It was nice to know that she tended to feel he was being honest with her, which of course he was. "I am of a mind to trust you as well, otherwise I would not have suggested you meet my family." If she was willing to make certain admissions than Jasper felt it was only right that he do the same. He truly got a good sense from her and his instincts told him that she would be a powerful ally and quite possibly an interesting friend.
It wasn't a surprise that she would refuse his suggestion of aid in searching for her family. It was a rather bold presumption to make such an offer but it was made genuinely. If things worked out the way that Jasper was beginning to hope they might then it could be possible down the road to persuade Caitlyn to accept the offer. For now at least it was something for her to think about. His smile grew a bit more then. "You have asked for nothing, Caitlyn, yet you pledge your assistance to us. I merely wish you to know that we are more than willing to help those who help us. I say that not as a ploy to secure your aid but as a general truth of our nature." There was a shift in Caitlyn's eyes then, hauntings from the past would be Jasper's best guest. A sense of sorrow and loss reached him a moment before a sudden flash of hatred. He arched a brow but remained silent, it seemed clear that all of her recent emotions were directed to the past.
At that point it was obvious that Caitlyn grasping any excuse to leave. With an understanding nod Jasper bowed toward her. "The pleasure was mine, Caitlyn Hanson. I look forward to any such future meetings. Until then be well." He watched while she disappeared into the dense forest beyond the edge of the meadow. Out of habit he made note of the direction she was going, despite the fact that it could be entirely irrelevant. Several moments passed before Jasper shifted his position. Finally he turned, angling toward home. It was time to check on Bella. Just the thought of her brought a tender smile to his face. Without further delay he shot forward at speed, the forest flashing past him as he made his way back where he belonged.
