[/color][/center]{appearance;[/color] Marcus is described to have a pale complextion and crimsion coloured eyes because of what he is as well as his human blood diet. He has shoulder length, black hair, which fall straight. His hair frames his face and his cold eyes. His eyes were cold and empty and made you think of dark tunnels, because of what has happened to his mate hundreds of years ago. Marcus can aalso be described as being white-faced and tight-lipped. Upon his face, he has a hooked nose, but its said to add character to his face and make his mysterious even for a vampire.
{history;[/color] The Volturi are an ancient and powerful coven of vampires, something like royalty in humans. They operate from the city of Volterra, Italy. The Volturi have existed for at least three thousand years, if not more. They are the largest coven in existence. The Volturi deal swiftly and decisively with anything they consider a threat to their city, or to the vampire world; for example they protect vampires existence in secret . They destroy anyone who attempts to overthrow them or resist their authority.
Marcus is one of three vampires in Italy who live what Edward described as a very civilized and educated lifestyle. He was born in the city of Rome in the year of 1300bc, and he can not remember when he was turned as years were not taken well at the time he was turned. Over the course of his vampire life, he became a leader of the Volturi and fell in love with Aro's sister Didyme. Over time Marcus and Didyme eventually became discontent being involved with Aro's rising organization, the Volturi. In order to prevent their leaving, Aro killed Didyme: Marcus was too integral to his plans to lose. Aro then had Chelsea use her ability to ensure Marcus remained loyal to the Volturi.
When his mate was killed, Marcus became extremely apathetic, and would often appear bored and un impressed with everything around him.
{personality;[/color] Marcus is generally depicted as being cold, calculating, precise, sarcastic, and bitter. He is a character with gravitas, authority and power and he typically displays a very calm and collected demeanour, rarely at a loss for words or taken off guard. Marcus has a temper that is often not shown to others as he shows no emotion to the world, after losing his mate. His otherwise impassive and aloof attitude seems to stem from his belief that people who cannot control their emotions are weak. He deeply believes that the Volturi is necessary for the survival of the vampire species, with its bylaws that hold secrecy of the existence of vampires to the utmost importance.
